South Mansfield College (SMC) marked its 22nd Foundation Anniversary on January 23, 2026, with a vibrant and heartfelt celebration at the SMC Open Area that brought together students, parents, alumni, partner schools, and distinguished local officials. The milestone event honored more than two decades of academic excellence, resilience and community building, reinforcing SMC’s role as a leading educational institution in the southern Metro Manila region.
The celebration was graced by Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon, who underscored the vital role SMC plays in the city’s development. In his keynote address, Mayor Biazon highlighted education as a shared responsibility between schools and government institutions. He praised SMC for its unwavering commitment to shaping future leaders and professionals. “You are the city’s partners in shaping the future workforce, leaders, and problem solvers of Muntinlupa,” Mayor Biazon said. “For the past 22 years, South Mansfield College has clearly been part of this mission. Congratulations to your 22 years of service, sacrifice, and commitment to education.”
Muntinlupa Vice Mayor Stephanie Teves-Wong also commended the institution’s ability to adapt and thrive amid evolving educational demands. She noted that the anniversary theme, A Legacy of Grit, Growth, and Greatness, reflects the perseverance and dedication of the SMC community. She emphasized that the institution’s focus on academic excellence, integrity, and character formation ensures that graduates are prepared to make meaningful contributions to society.
Department of Education Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Violeta Gonzales echoed these sentiments, reminding the audience that the institution’s success is rooted in consistent hard work, resilience, and continuous improvement. She described SMC’s achievements as a testament to the daily perseverance of its educators and learners.
As the celebration concluded, the SMC administration expressed heartfelt gratitude to the entire community for its steadfast support throughout the years. The strong partnership between the City Government of Muntinlupa, the Department of Education – Schools Division of Muntinlupa, the Southville Global Education Network (SGEN), the parents, the alumni and the SMC community continues to strengthen the institution’s mission of delivering quality education.
